Allegro Network Multimeter

Allegro Network Multimeter

Allegro Network Multimeter is a powerful yet easy to use diagnostic appliances for network analysis. They are used by network administrators to monitor and acquire highly granular real-time and historical network traffic.

A comprehensive network analysis can be quickly performed, network problems can be detected with just a few clicks, performance bottlenecks identified, and packet losses detected. The Network Multimeter is the market-leading device for analyzing faults and peak loads, and a highly efficient monitoring tool to ensure best network quality.

The Allegro Network Multimeter is available in four different system sizes – designed for network analysis in 1 G, 10 G, 40 G or 100 G networks. The entry-level model (Allegro 200) which weighs in at 260 g is not much larger than a smartphone; the larger versions (Allegro 1000 / Allegro 3000) fit into a laptop bag and weigh around 2 kg. The Allegro 1000 & 3000 Series is also available as a rackmount unit. The 3500 / 5500 Series are optimized as 4U rack devices for installation in server racks. All Allegro Network Multimeters help speed up your network analysis many times over.

The entry-level models of the Allegro Network Multimeter are small, lightweight and do not need to be configured. They can be flexibly integrated at almost any point in the network, either directly at the customer’s premises or accessed remotely. Our customers appreciate the fact that our debugger is both mobile and high-performance. This provides cost-efficient and powerful network analysis.

Internal IT divisions

The Allegro Network Multimeter helps IT departments troubleshoot and analyze their networks quickly and in detail. Connect the Multimeter to a specific location in the network to be examined or place it at a central location for continous monitoring. Simultaneously investigate up to 200 workstations with the Allegro 200. The storage time and retrospective data capacity depends on the data volume in the network. If your requirements demand more storage, the Allegro 1000 is recommended. This allows you to benefit from extra RAM without incurring major additional costs. The Allegro family are the ideal network troubleshooting tools. For example, when a printer does not respond, a service cannot be addressed, or e-mails have not arrived. The Allegro Network Multimeter helps you quickly locate and analyze network errors (LAN and WLAN).

Data centers

Network analysis with the Allegro Network Multimeter can detect errors on different layers of the network whether you suspect the error in VLANs, at the IP or the application layer. Based on the information gathered by the Allegro Network Multimeter, you can quickly determine whether the fault is in your data center or in the customer’s premises. You can also ensure the quality of the services (SLAs) you are committed to. For example, if the retansmission rate of a service increases, the Allegro Network multimeter will send you a warning if requested.

IT system houses

Once you have set up a network, you can use the Allegro Network Multimeter to verify that the data communication and applications are working efficiently. If the customer later reports an error, send the Allegro Network Multimeter directly to the customer. Once there, the device can be connected by a local administrator and immediately, they can commence the analysis. You and they can debug problems remotely via a web interface. You can also investigate sporadic errors by navigating to the recorded network traffic in the web interface. A subsequent Pcap extraction of the searched packets is also possible with the help of the ring buffer. You have the choice whether you save the Pcap on the local USB disk or on your computer.

ISPs

The Allegro Network Multimeter can be integrated into your existing infrastructure as Virtual Network Functions (VNF). Continuously measure the quality and services used. If required, you can use the information collected to analyze your peak loads and any faults. With the Allegro Network Multimeter, you have the benefit of a manufacturer-independent tool for locating malfunctions in network components and providing detailed information to vendors. In addition, the Pcap ring buffer allows detection of sporadic errors such as short-term jitter of data connection.

Dashboard with all Important Network Traffic Parameters

Intuitive Web Interface

The intuitive web interface, which works with any browser, allows an easy entry for network traffic analysis for fast troubleshooting. The integrated search function facilitates the sorting, searching and filtering of MAC or IP addresses, ports, VLANs, TCP handshakes, packet losses, HTTP latencies and much more. The results are displayed in fractions of a second. Even remote analysis without waiting times is possible.

Comprehensive Analyses

The Allegro Network Multimeter includes many different analysis modules. The Allegro Network Multimeter analyzes and correlates all metadata across network layers 2 to 7 and enables detailed monitoring of the entire network traffic. For example, all Ethernet types can be examined and extracted on layer 2. The analysis modules are constantly being expanded by Allegro Packets.

Real-time Analysis

The troubleshooting tool enables real-time analysis of network traffic immediately after commissioning. Network traffic problems and unexpected connection interruptions can be detected and mapped within seconds. The system administrator can quickly click through the statistics without waiting for the results. No time is lost waiting for the data and the work process is not interrupted.

 Pcap Extraction for Wireshark

With the help of web interfaces, Pcap data can be extracted in real-time and retroactively: e.g. all packets of a MAC address, or all packets of a connection, or all packets of a layer 7 protocol at a specific time and much more. Wherever the Pcap capture button appears on the web interface, the data can be downloaded. This function is also possible retrospectively if the cause of the problem is already in the past. This feature eliminates the need for complicated filter settings. If you use Wireshark, the Allegro Network Multimeter is the perfect extension. It facilitates Wireshark analysis since only a fraction of the total traffic needs to be examined.
