Packetmaster EX2

Packetmaster EX2 is a new development of the existing EX platform based on a completely redesigned ASIC. The Packetmaster EX2 is a desktop packet broker who supports 4 x 10/100/1000 Mbit and 2 x 1/10 Gbit ports (SFP SFP+). Each of the 10 Gbit ports can be loaded with a SFP+ or SFP which can be singlemode as well as multimode. Each port can have an output and/or an input functionality. IPv4 and IPv6 support is included as well. No additional software costs – all applications included. No additional port fees.

Solutions

The flexibility and the rich feature set of the Cubro Packetmaster, and the modularity of the Cubro Tap’s and layer 1 devices, give us the opportunity to create many solutions which exact fit to the customers need.

Solution 1: PACKETMASTER EX2 10 GBIT MONITORING & LOAD BALANCING

Solution 2: EX2 MEDIA AND SPEED CONVERTER

In this very simple solution the Packetmaster EX2 works only as a bidirectional media and speed converter. The size and the fan less construction, makes the EX2 the flexibles’ and cheapest device on the market.

Solution 3: CUBRO NPB UNITS SUPPORT BYPASS FUNCTION

The Cubro Bypass Application is a superior way to provide a fail-safe access port for an in-line monitoring appliance. From EX2 with Gbit up to EX 20400 with 100 Gbit bypass feature. With and without optical layer 1 switch support

Solution 4: AGGREGATION OF TWO 10 GBIT SPAN PORTS TO 1 10 GBIT OUTPUT WITH EX2+

This application is normally not possible because the EX2+ has only two 10 Gbit ports and you need 3 to do this job.  But we at Cubro give our units some extra features to do this with two ports.

A optical ports has an transmitter and a receiver part, this two “ports” can be used separately in all Cubro NPB. The other feature what you need is the optical tap at the back

Solution 6:  GRE  DE – ENCAPSULATION

Virtual environments needs virtual Taps, virtual Taps need GRE to send it over the virtual switchto a real monitoring device. All Packetmaster units can decapsulate GRE traffic to get the data in their original format.
